LAHORE: A Group of Investors under the Chairman-ship of Jamshed Iqbal Cheema who also chairs "Auriga Group of Companies" and Muhammad Akram Shahid, Chairman of "United International Group (UIG)", have taken over Network Microfinance Bank Limited (NMBL), after acquiring major share holding of NMBL. The names of the new "Board of Directors and Management" of the NMBL are Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Muhammad Akram Shahid, Muhammad Azam Cheema, Qamar-uz-Zaman, Shahida Bilquis, Ejaz Ahmed Khan and Shoaib Ahmad Butt.

The Management Control of the Bank has also been taken over with effect from, January 24, 2012 by Group of Investors.

Eighth Annual General Meeting of Network Microfinance Bank Limited is scheduled to be held on 29 March, 2011 at 5:00 P.M. at its head office, room no. 202, Azayam Plaza, Shahra-e-Faisal, Karachi to transact the ordinary business.

The Consultative Group meeting of all microfinance bank’s Presidents along with other key players of the sector was held under the auspicious of State Bank of Pakistan on 26th June 2009 at Islamabad. The President of NMBL has also attended the meeting and stressed the need to revisit the existing regulation in line with existing economic situation of the country.
